Salmi – Capitolo 68
La gloriosa epopea di Israele
[1]Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Canto.
[2]Sorga Dio, i suoi nemici si disperdano
e fuggano davanti a lui quelli che lo odiano.
[3]Come si disperde il fumo, tu li disperdi;
come fonde la cera di fronte al fuoco,
periscano gli empi davanti a Dio.
[4]I giusti invece si rallegrino,
esultino davanti a Dio
e cantino di gioia.
[5]Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome,
spianate la strada a chi cavalca le nubi:
«Signore» è il suo nome,
gioite davanti a lui.
[6]Padre degli orfani e difensore delle vedove
è Dio nella sua santa dimora.
[7]Ai derelitti Dio fa abitare una casa,
fa uscire con gioia i prigionieri;
solo i ribelli abbandona in arida terra.
[8]Dio, quando uscivi davanti al tuo popolo,
quando camminavi per il deserto,
[9]la terra tremò, stillarono i cieli
davanti al Dio del Sinai,
davanti a Dio, il Dio di Israele.
[10]Pioggia abbondante riversavi, o Dio,
rinvigorivi la tua eredità esausta.
[11]E il tuo popolo abitò il paese
che nel tuo amore, o Dio, preparasti al misero.
[12]Il Signore annunzia una notizia,
le messaggere di vittoria sono grande schiera:
[13]«Fuggono i re, fuggono gli eserciti,
anche le donne si dividono il bottino.
[14]Mentre voi dormite tra gli ovili,
splendono d’argento le ali della colomba,
le sue piume di riflessi d’oro».
[15]Quando disperdeva i re l’Onnipotente,
nevicava sullo Zalmon.
[16]Monte di Dio, il monte di Basan,
monte dalle alte cime, il monte di Basan.
[17]Perché invidiate, o monti dalle alte cime,
il monte che Dio ha scelto a sua dimora?
Il Signore lo abiterà per sempre.
[18]I carri di Dio sono migliaia e migliaia:
il Signore viene dal Sinai nel santuario.
[19]Sei salito in alto conducendo prigionieri,
hai ricevuto uomini in tributo:
anche i ribelli abiteranno
presso il Signore Dio.
[20]Benedetto il Signore sempre;
ha cura di noi il Dio della salvezza.
[21]Il nostro Dio è un Dio che salva;
il Signore Dio libera dalla morte.
[22]Sì, Dio schiaccerà il capo dei suoi nemici,
la testa altèra di chi percorre la via del delitto.
[23]Ha detto il Signore: «Da Basan li farò tornare,
li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare,
[24]perché il tuo piede si bagni nel sangue,
e la lingua dei tuoi cani riceva la sua parte tra i nemici».
[25]Appare il tuo corteo, Dio,
il corteo del mio Dio, del mio re, nel santuario.
[26]Precedono i cantori, seguono ultimi i citaredi,
in mezzo le fanciulle che battono cèmbali.
[27]«Benedite Dio nelle vostre assemblee,
benedite il Signore, voi della stirpe di Israele».
[28]Ecco, Beniamino, il più giovane,
guida i capi di Giuda nelle loro schiere,
i capi di Zàbulon, i capi di Nèftali.
[29]Dispiega, Dio, la tua potenza,
conferma, Dio, quanto hai fatto per noi.
[30]Per il tuo tempio, in Gerusalemme,
a te i re porteranno doni.
[31]Minaccia la belva dei canneti,
il branco dei tori con i vitelli dei popoli:
si prostrino portando verghe d’argento;
disperdi i popoli che amano la guerra.
[32]Verranno i grandi dall’Egitto,
l’Etiopia tenderà le mani a Dio.
[33]Regni della terra, cantate a Dio,
cantate inni al Signore;
[34]egli nei cieli cavalca, nei cieli eterni,
ecco, tuona con voce potente.
[35]Riconoscete a Dio la sua potenza,
la sua maestà su Israele,
la sua potenza sopra le nubi.
[36]Terribile sei, Dio, dal tuo santuario;
il Dio d’Israele dà forza e vigore al suo popolo,
sia benedetto Dio.

1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the cloudsb];
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families,c]
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
7 When you, God, went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,d]
8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor.
11 The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:
12 “Kings and armies flee in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.
13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,e]
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Almightyf] scattered the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.
15 Mount Bashan, majestic mountain,
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the Lord himself will dwell forever?
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.g]
18 When you ascended on high,
you took many captives;
you received gifts from people,
even fromh] the rebellious—
that you,i] Lord God, might dwell there.
19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share.”
24 Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.
25 In front are the singers, after them the musicians;
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.
26 Praise God in the great congregation;
praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel.
27 There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.
28 Summon your power, Godj];
show us your strength, our God, as you have done before.
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.
30 Rebuke the beast among the reeds,
the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
31 Envoys will come from Egypt;
Cushk] will submit herself to God.
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
33 to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders with mighty voice.
34 Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.

Commento al filmato: è una indescrivibile gioia ed esultanza quella che ci coglie nell’ascolto dello stupendo brano “Senza indicazione di tempo” del Concerto in Do Magg di Bach – trascritto da “L’Estro Armonico” di Vivaldi – le note maestose, entusiasmanti dell’Organo cantano possenti:
I giusti si rallegrano,
esultano davanti a Dio
e cantano di gioia.
Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome:
Signore è il suo nome.
Commentary on the film 1st part: it is an indescribable joy and exultation that which captures us in listening to the wonderful piece “Without indication of time” from Bach’s Concerto in C Major – transcribed from “L’Estro Armonico” by Vivaldi – the majestic notes , enthusiastic of the Organ sing mighty:
The righteous rejoice, rejoice before God and they sing for joy. Sing to God, sing praises to his name: Lord is his name.

Commento al filmato: questo Concerto di Vivaldi, con le note gioiose, esultanti, addirittura frenetiche, canta, con i versetti tratti dal Salmo 67 (68), un inno straordinario alla Onnipotenza del Signore!:
