Cantico del giusto
[1]Salmo. Canto. Per il giorno del sabato.
[2]E’ bello dar lode al Signore
e cantare al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
[3]annunziare al mattino il tuo amore,
la tua fedeltà lungo la notte,
[4]sull’arpa a dieci corde e sulla lira,
con canti sulla cetra.
[5]Poiché mi rallegri, Signore, con le tue meraviglie,
esulto per l’opera delle tue mani.
[6]Come sono grandi le tue opere, Signore,
quanto profondi i tuoi pensieri!
[7]L’uomo insensato non intende
e lo stolto non capisce:
[8]se i peccatori germogliano come l’erba
e fioriscono tutti i malfattori,
li attende una rovina eterna:
[9]ma tu sei l’eccelso per sempre, o Signore.
[10]Ecco, i tuoi nemici, o Signore,
ecco, i tuoi nemici periranno,
saranno dispersi tutti i malfattori.
[11]Tu mi doni la forza di un bùfalo,
mi cospargi di olio splendente.
[12]I miei occhi disprezzeranno i miei nemici,
e contro gli iniqui che mi assalgono
i miei orecchi udranno cose infauste.
[13]Il giusto fiorirà come palma,
crescerà come cedro del Libano;
[14]piantati nella casa del Signore,
fioriranno negli atri del nostro Dio.
[15]Nella vecchiaia daranno ancora frutti,
saranno vegeti e rigogliosi,
[16]per annunziare quanto è retto il Signore:
mia roccia, in lui non c’è ingiustizia.

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
1 It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
2 proclaiming your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
4 For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
5 How great are your works, Lord,
how profound your thoughts!
6 Senseless people do not know,
fools do not understand,
7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.
8 But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
9 For surely your enemies, Lord,
surely your enemies will perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.
10 You have exalted my hornb] like that of a wild ox;
fine oils have been poured on me.
11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
Commento al filmato: il dialogo di spettacolare bellezza del Fagotto, con le sue note calde e profonde, con l’Orchestra, nell’Allegro” del Concerto in Si b Magg di Mozart, ci introduce in un’atmosfera di esultanza che ci fa cantare con il salmista questi versetti del Responsoriale tratto dal Salmo 91/92 riprodotto interamente nel filmato:
«È bello rendere grazie al Signore e cantare al tuo nome, o Altissimo, annunciare al mattino il tuo amore, la tua fedeltà lungo la notte.»
