Salmo 003
Salmo 3
3 Invocazione mattutina del giusto perseguitato
1 Salmo di Davide quando fuggiva il figlio Assalonne.
2 Signore, quanti sono i miei oppressori!
Molti contro di me insorgono.
3 Molti di me vanno dicendo
“Neppure Dio lo salva! ”.
4 Ma tu, Signore, sei mia difesa,
tu sei mia gloria e sollevi il mio capo.
5 Al Signore innalzo la mia voce
e mi risponde dal suo monte santo.
6 Io mi corico e mi addormento,
mi sveglio perché il Signore mi sostiene.
7 Non temo la moltitudine di genti
che contro di me si accampano.
8 Sorgi, Signore,
salvami, Dio mio.
Hai colpito sulla guancia i miei nemici,
hai spezzato i denti ai peccatori.
9 Del Signore è la salvezza
sul tuo popolo la tua benedizione
Psalm 3a]
A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.
1 Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”b]
3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4 I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side.
7 Arise, Lord!
Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
8 From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
Molti contro di me insorgono. 3 Molti di me vanno dicendo “Neppure Dio lo salva! ”. 4 Ma tu, Signore, sei mia difesa
Ma nel finale i quattro strumenti cantano esultanti:
8 Sorgi, Signore, salvami, Dio mio. Hai colpito sulla guancia i miei nemici, hai spezzato i denti ai peccatori.
Commentary on the video: the extraordinary harmonic richness of the “Larghetto – Allegretto agitato” from Beethoven’s Quartet Op 95 “Serioso” describes with dramatic tones, at times poignant, the condition of David when he was fleeing from his son Absalonne who had betrayed him:
2 Lord, how many are my oppressors! Many against me rise up. 3 Many of me are saying “Not even God saves him! “. 4 But you, Lord, are my defense
But in the finale the four instruments sing exultantly:
8 Arise, Lord, save me, my God. You have struck my enemies on the cheek, you have broken the teeth of sinners.
