Salmi – Capitolo 149
Canto trionfale
[1]Alleluia.
Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo;
la sua lode nell’assemblea dei fedeli.
[2]Gioisca Israele nel suo Creatore,
esultino nel loro Re i figli di Sion.
[3]Lodino il suo nome con danze,
con timpani e cetre gli cantino inni.
[4]Il Signore ama il suo popolo,
incorona gli umili di vittoria.
[5]Esultino i fedeli nella gloria,
sorgano lieti dai loro giacigli.
[6]Le lodi di Dio sulla loro bocca
e la spada a due tagli nelle loro mani,
[7]per compiere la vendetta tra i popoli
e punire le genti;
[8]per stringere in catene i loro capi,
i loro nobili in ceppi di ferro;
[9]per eseguire su di essi il giudizio gia scritto:
questa è la gloria per tutti i suoi fedeli.

1 Praise the Lord.[a]
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
3 Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
4 For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.
5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths
and a double-edged sword in their hands,
7 to inflict vengeance on the nations
and punishment on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters,
their nobles with shackles of iron,
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—
this is the glory of all his faithful people.
Praise the Lord.
Commento al filmato: nello spettacolare “Allegro” del Concerto in Fa Magg di Vivaldi, i due Corni e l’Orchestra d’archi “esultano” con il Responsoriale «Cantino al loro re i figli di Sion» – viene alla mente la danza frenetica del Re Davide che, al suono delle trombe, marcia alla testa del Popolo di Israele nel trasporto dell’Arca dell’Alleanza al monte Sion:
«Lodino il suo nome con danze, con tamburelli e cetre gli cantino inni.»

Commentary on the video: in the spectacular “Allegro” of the Concerto in F Major by Vivaldi, the two horns and the string orchestra “rejoice” with the Responsorial “I sing the sons of Sion to their king” – the frenetic dance comes to mind of King David who, at the sound of the trumpets, marches at the head of the People of Israel in the transport of the Ark of the Covenant to Mount Zion:
